EAS Germany, German producer of battery cells, and Gaia Akkumulatorenwerke, German producer of battery systems, was merged into the EAS Batteries GmbH by their new owners Monbat AD. The company already made significant investments in new high-tech semi-automated manufacturing lines, as well as in Digatron silicon-carbide cell and battery testers and battery assembly facilities.
By concentrating on the production of lithium-ion batteries, which serves a high-power capability, high cycle life, uncontested safety, fast charging, power density and a competitive price, EAS Batteries aims to revitalize the built-up strengths by EAS Germany and Gaia.
EAS Germany continues the production of high power batteries for selected industries, as for instance public transport, commercial fleets, construction machines etc. The systems have already been adopted by aerospace and defence. Cylindrical cell technology and a modular-based packing approach of battery and systems will follow.
EAS Batterie’s battery energy storage systems will be presented at the upcoming EES Electrical Energy Storage exhibition in Munich (20-22 June 2018).
