International producer of driveline and chassis technology, ZF Friedrichshafen AG, will soon be building a 20,000 square meters production facility for electric and hybrid vehicle products in Serbia. The company announced the production to start in 2019 and will invest a total of €100 million in this project.

Michael Hankel, member of the Management Board of ZF Friedrichshafen AG, is responsible for the e-mobility division at ZF and wants the company to act timely: “The demand for our electric motors and all-electric drives develops dynamically. Since vehicles with hybrid and all-electric drives are set to become more established in the future, we are adapting our worldwide production network to cope with the rise in demand.”

The construction of the plant will start in the summer of 2018 in the city of Pančevo, located 14 kilometers northeast of Belgrade, and will produce electric motors and generators for hybrid and electric drives, as well as transmission selector levers and micro-switches.
